Kenya: Gunmen attack DP Ruto’s home

NAIROBI – Deputy President William Ruto’s Sugoi home is under attack from armed gangsters. Armed gangsters stormed the DP’s home, shot one GSU officer and took off with a gun.

The incident happened a few minutes after the deputy president had left for Kitale. Police have cordoned off the home as they suspect the attackers are within the compound.

A team of GSU officers have been deployed to the DP’s Sugoi compound as reinforcement to eliminate the about three gunmen who are suspected to be hiding there.

Police chopper arrived later as gunshots continue rocking the scene. Media and members of the public have been barred from the scene and kept at least 500m away. Rift Valley regional coordinator and Uasin Gishu County commander currently at the scene.
