Uganda: Former MUASA chairperson appointed new Makerere spokesperson

Makerere University, under authorization of the vice chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe, has appointed the former MUASA chairperson Muhammad Kigunddu as the new university manager of communications and interpersonal relations.

According to a letter from the university’s Human Resource office dated January 18, Kigunddu takes over the acting role as the communications manager with immediate effect.

Kigunddu is supposed to be the overall leader of all the communication related matters in the university, write news article and reports, monitoring coverage of Makerere University in media and other duties assigned to him by Prof Nawangwe.

However, Dr Kigunddu takes over all the roles and work that has been done by the current university spokesperson Rita Namisango thus her fate is not known.

Ms Namisango when approached declined to comment on this issue until further notice.
