Doctors Without Borders exhibit spotlights refugee crisis

The refugee experience is the focus of a new interactive exhibit by Doctors Without Borders.

“Forced From Home” is a free, outdoor display opening Saturday on Boston’s Long Wharf. It features a mock refugee camp, a virtual reality display and real life aid workers.

Jason Cone, the U.S. director for the international humanitarian organization, says the goal is for visitors to confront the same “impossible choices” millions of refugees face each day in places like Afghanistan, Burundi, Honduras, Syria and South Sudan.

An aid worker will serve as a guide as visitors navigate the 10,000-square-foot exhibition space.

The exhibit runs until Oct. 23 before moving to Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. It was previously in New York and Washington, D.C.
