Kirumira presents SSP Omala in court as fulfilment of his bail terms

Former Buyende District Police Commander, ASP Muhammad Kirumira has been released on bail over charges of extortion, unlawful exercise of authority and corruption.

Police court in Naguru, Kampala chaired by Denis Odongpiny on Thursday granted Mr Kirumira bail after he presented former Kampala Metropolitan Police operations commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Sam Omala as his surety.

Mr Kirumira also apologised over his ‘scandalous conduct’ when he marched out of police court protesting harsh bail conditions.

On February 13, Mr Kirumira marched out of court after he applied for bail but court chairman insisted it would only be granted if he presented a senior police officers above his rank.
