Uganda: Woman knocked dead at Garuga-Entebbe Road junction

An unidentified woman was knocked dead at the Garuga-Entebbe Road junction in Kitala, Katabi town council, this morning.

Locals said she was knocked in the wee hours of the night by a runaway car which did not stop.

She did not die immediately but there was no emergency rescue to rush her to hospital and oncoming vehicles ran over her body.

By the time Daily Monitor reached the scene, her mangled body lay in the middle of the tarmac road.

A police patrol vehicle passed by, saw the body but did not stop to pick it up.

The body had been crushed beyond recognition and her identities could not be readily established.
