Uganda: Bomb scare: Abandoned bag paralyses traffic in Kampala

Business and traffic flow on Buganda Road in Kampala city was paralysed for some time after a suitcase was found abandoned in the middle of a city road.

The Police Bomb Squad was contacted and deployed its officers.

The scene was sealed off before the suit case was opened.However, upon checking, the suitcase contained just a pair of clothes and other personal belongings.

Police have been on high alert after a January terror attack on a hotel and office complex in the neighbouring Kenya.

Security has been enhanced and counter-terror measures have been put in place to secure the country, according to police.
