Kenyan arrested at Seychelles airport for having drugs

A Kenyan was detained at Seychelles International Airport on Saturday after she was found with about 200 grammes of a yet-to-be-identified narcotic.

In a statement, security agencies said Marietta Anyango was arrested at about 5pm and the drugs found in her body.

Anyango left the JKIA in Nairobi at 2.30 pm, aboard Ethiopian Airways flight ET 309, that travelled through Addis Ababa in Ethiopia to Victoria, Seychelles.

“Collaborative efforts between Kenyan security agencies and their Seychelles counterparts led to the positive profiling and apprehension of the suspect,’ the statement read.

“The Kenyan Anti-Narcotics team is closing in o Anyango’s Kenyan associates for appropriate action.”
