Six slum groups receive State House money

President Museveni on Monday gave Shs 100 million to youths in Kamwokya, a Kampala suburb to help boost their small scale businesses.

Mr Museveni also urged the youth to refrain from burning car tyres on roads which he says costs government in terms of repair.

Speaking on behalf of Mr Museveni, deputy government spokesperson, Rtd. Col. Shaban Bantariza told the youth that if they continue burning tyres, the money which would be spent on developing schools, hospitals and other infrastructure will instead be used to repair the damaged roads.

“The president has given you this money but I urge you to use it well. You have been given 100m but if you use it well, in future you will get more than that,” Col. Bantariza said.
