Millions lost as fire guts another market in Entebbe

ENTEBBE: Property worth millions of shillings has once again been lost as fire razed down and destroyed a number of kiosks in Nakiwogo market, making it the third market to get destroyed in a series of fire outbreaks in the municipality in the past three weeks.
Mr Sam Kasirye, a trader told this reporter that the fire started at 8pm on Friday after traders had ended the day’s business and headed back to their homes.

“Before the fire started, we saw sparks from the electric wires. We suspect this could have been the cause of the fire,” he said.
Nakiwogo market is the third market in a space of three weeks to get razed following Kitooro central market and Lubigi market respectively that recently got burnt.
Kasirye further blamed the Fire brigade for arriving at the scene late after business operators around the market unsuccessfully struggled to put out the tense
