Ethiopia, Bangladesh best suited to share dev’t experiences

Ethiopia and Bangladesh  share similar commonalities and have a lot to learn from each others’  development experience, as both countries continue marching against poverty reduction, stated Bangladeshi Ambassador to Ethiopia Monirul Islam.

In an exclusive interview with The Ethiopian Herald,  the ambassador  said though the embassy here was opened a year ago, it contributed a lot in advancing the two countries relations.  His country is desirous of expanding the areas of cooperation  with Ethiopia.

The economic ties between the countries is growing rapidly with Bangladeshi investors  showing increased interest to invest in Ethiopia. Accordingly, a 60-million USD textile and garment factory will soon take shape in Mekelle, Tigray state capital, he indicated.

He also made clear as Bangladesh could offer market opportunities for Ethiopian products.

The ambassador added Ethiopia is growing and becoming  garment and textile hub, in this regard, Bangladesh is keen on training Ethiopian experts in the area.
