Magufuli consoles Sykes’ family

President John Magufuli has sent condolences to the family, relatives and friends of former Dar es Salaam City mayor, Kleist Sykes, who died at Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday, this week.

According to a State House release issued yesterday, the President added that the Sykes and his family devoted in building Tanganyika African Association (TAA), Tanganyika African National Union (TANU) and Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) parties.

Dr Magufuli described Sykes as a politician put national interests first during the struggle for the country’s independence despite the difficulties he passed through.

“The contributions of Mzee Kleist Sykes and his family will never be forgotten…his patriotism will be remembered and preserved.

Truly his departure has left us in the sad mood since he has gone while his wisdom was still needed,” the President said.
