Six people die in separate road accidents

Six people have been confirmed dead in separate accidents in Mityana, Kiboga and Kyankwanzi districts on Saturday.

Four people who were travelling in a Toyota Harrier Reg. No. UMA 790 B died on the spot after their car was involved in a head-on collision with a mini bus on the Mubende-Mityana Road.

Two people who were injured have been admitted at Kiganda Health Centre where the four bodies were also taken.

At Kayunga village on the Kiboga-Kampala Highway, Moses Kangave, of Kansanga- Kampala who was driving a Toyota Starlet vehicle to Kampala lost control and knocked a boda boda motorcycle.

The rider of the motor cycle, a one Joseph Kabugu of Kiryokya, Mityana who was seriously injured died on arrival at Bukomero Health Centre.

Kabugu’s passenger who is not yet identified was referred to Mulago Hospital for treatment.

At Misago Trading Centre, in Kyankwanzi District a truck lost control and knocked a bicycle, instantly killing Tracey Musasizi.

The body was taken to Kiboga Referral Hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem.

Joshua Kalema, the truck driver has been arrested.

Police at Kiganda Police Station, blamed the accidents on reckless driving.
