Uganda maintains position in latest global corruption index

Berlin-based anti-graft group Transparency International published Wednesday its global corruption perceptions index covering 180 countries.

Marks are scored between 0 and 100, with 0 being most corrupt and 100 the least, based on data from international organisations like the World Bank, African Development Bank and World Economic Forum.

Uganda has maintained the same position in the international corruption rankings. Last year, the country was at position 151, the same this year, scoring 26 percent.

In East Africa, Rwanda is the best ranked and globally ranked 48, Tanzania came second at number 103 globally, Kenya third and ranked 143 globally. Uganda forth at 151, and Burundi is ranked 157 globally.

South Sudan and Somalia are the most corrupt countries ranked 179 and 180 globally respectively.
