One dead, three injured in Masaka car crash

One person has been confirmed dead and three others injured after an accident on the Kampala-Masaka highway at Kalagala in Mpigi District.
Police identified the deceased as Mansur Mugalu, 55.

The injured have been admitted to a local health center while the body of the deceased person has been taken to Mulago hospital mortuary for post mortem.

Police have blamed the Monday morning accident on reckless driving.
“The accident happened when a trailer registration UBA 205R collided with a lorry UAX 375R. Motorists should be more careful when driving on these roads.

The rains have started and therefore, the roads have become slippery. My appeal also goes to Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA).

They should put sign posts on all the black spots like this one,” said the Katonga region police spokesperson.

Mr Frank Maganda, a medical officer at Double Cure Medical Centre where the injured were taken says the patients are out of danger.

“What we are managing is soft tissue pains,” he said
